For what occasions can I send gifts from CharityGiftBag.org?
You can send gifts from CharityGiftBag.org for any celebratory occasion, such as weddings, anniversaries, or birthdays. Gifts from CharityGiftBag.org also make perfect gifts for holidays or any other time you want to express your feelings for family members, friends, or colleagues.
In what currency can I make my donation?
All donations are made in Canadian dollars (CAD). We are currently working on adding other currencies.
Can I personalize my e-card?
Yes, you can select an image from our image library and write your own personalized title and message on an e-card for any of the gifts you choose.
How long does it take for my card to be delivered?
Unless youve selected to send your e-card at a future date, e-cards are sent within 24 hours of your purchase. If for some reason your e-card doesn't arrive at the specified time, please call toll free at 1-800-811-7811 and we will be able to issue you a new e-card immediately.
Do CharityGiftBag.org e-cards expire? Do they have to be retrieved within a specified period of time?
E-cards are sent directly to a recipients inbox, on the designated send date, and will remain active as long as the recipient does not delete the email.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
If the charity you've chosen is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you will be issued a tax receipt for your donation by email within 24 hours of your purchase.
Why is giving my email address mandatory?
Providing your email address allows us to reduce our administrative costs, eliminates tax-receipting errors and ensures that you get your electronic tax receipt within 24 hours.
How secure is my payment information?

Is my personal information (and my receipient's) protected?

What are the fees for charities using this site?
Charities are charged a small annual fee and transaction fee. This is a small fraction of what it would cost a charity to set up their own online gift catalogue. Our goal is to make it possible for charities of all sizes to be able to fundraise more effectively.
How do I know that the charity will get my donation?
All donations are automatically transferred directly into your chosen charity's bank account through our secure credit card processing system.
How can I be sure that the charity will use my donation to purchase the gift I have chosen?
CharityGiftBag.org strongly recommends that charities on this site be fully accountable to their donors and use all donations as intended. It is up to each charity to ensure that the funds are used for the purpose designated. CharityGiftBag.org has expert advisors available to charities on accounting for designated gifts.
